UPTOWN GIRLS Varsity Womens' Choir
The Millard West Uptown Girls are comprised of 58 unique and talented women ranging from Freshmen to Seniors. These girls absolutely love to perform and always strive to leave an enthusiastic impact on their audience. The Uptown Girls take pride in performance, while remaining extremely involved with their honors and AP academic courses and various activities outside of show choir.
Journey deep into the jungle with the Uptown Girls in their tribute to Artemis, the Greek Goddess of Wild Animals and the Wilderness (Kayama, Wild Things, Wild, & Where the Wild Things Are). She represents the Hunt and not letting others prey upon her (Game of Survival & Hunter). Uptown honors her as a symbol for Earth and Vegetation in a beautiful ballad trilogy (A Bit of Earth, Come to My Garden, & Lift Me Up). Dusk falls on the stage as the focus of the tribute transitions to the Moon (Old Devil Moon & Dancing in the Moonlight). Most notably, Artemis stands as a symbol for how powerful women are and can be!
Choreographed by Anne Chapman and arranged by John Burlace, under the direction of Zack Bjornsen, The Uptown Girls are ready to share this powerful tribute to Artemis with you!
Uptown Girls would like to thank all the parents, Fine Musicians (show band) and roadies who spend countless hours helping with their show. #BeKind
