Important Music Lives Volunteer Information

Thank you so much to all of you who have signed up to volunteer for Music Lives. We are only 3 days out from hosting one of the greatest show choir competitions in the area. Please make sure you are aware of all the information below so we are prepared to make this event AWESOME!

ADULTS: Sign up for a volunteer shift (We have some critical spots to fill!).

If you have signed up to volunteer, thank you! We ask that each show choir family sign up for at least one shift. However, feel free to sign up for multiple shifts or even all day (many of our volunteers do and we always need the help!)

There are still areas that are not completely staffed and we have some critical needs for adult volunteers in these areas:

  • Homeroom Monitors (especially the last shift) – Homeroom clean-up is important during the last shift, because we have to get all the classrooms where the students have hung out all day back in to “classroom shape!”
  • Cafe (afternoon and evening shifts) – We are allowed to use the school kitchen because we leave it spotless when we are done. To make clean-up quick and effective, we don’t want to be short in this area.
  • First Aid (last shift)
  • Parking Lot (later shifts) – Students will have to work these spots if we cannot get adult volunteers.

STUDENTS: Check the schedule one last time on Friday.

There have been several changes to the schedule since it was first posted. You might find that your job has not changed, but the time to report has changed. So, please make sure you have checked your job again by Thursday night. This will tell you which volunteer team you will be meeting with during the Friday informational meeting.

Attend the informational meeting on Friday, January 19th.

This meeting is for ALL STUDENT AND ADULT VOLUNTEERS and will be held in the Auditorium at 6:30 pm. We will answer any of your Millard West Music Lives questions. At this meeting, everyone will meet the teams and committee chairs they will be working with on Saturday for introductions and instruction.

Pick up your pre-ordered Music Lives merchandise before or after the meeting.

The merchandise that was ordered via our online store will be available for pick-up in the lobby of the auditorium. You can pick it up as early as 6 pm or grab it after the Friday meeting.

Purchase a volunteer T-shirt if you didn’t order one.

There will be a few Volunteer T-shirts available for sale (cash or check only) if you didn’t get a chance to order one. We use the same shirt year after year, so if you are a new parent to show choir, make sure you buy one! Short-sleeve t-shirts are $13 and long-sleeve t-shirts are $16. Please bring correct cash or a check as payment.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Please be aware that there will be a basketball game Friday night, so parking may be an issue. We look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting!

Please contact us if you have any questions.
